What is Diplomat Risk Intelligence?

Diplomat Risk Intelligence, (DRI, is a business intelligence service that The Diplomat makes available to institutional clients. With this service, we offer dedicated access to our experts to help you identify risks that are relevant to your Asia-Pacific interests, and to provide you with valuable insights into the prevailing political and security environment.

The Diplomat and Diplomat Risk Intelligence are owned by Diplomat Media Inc., a Delaware company.

How does the service work?

We offer the service on a 12-month retainer basis, during which period you will have access to our full roster of experts, to cover the entire Asia-Pacific region. Using our simple online booking service, you will be able to arrange one-on-one phone or video conference calls with an expert whenever you require.

In brief, we will not sell or share your information with any third party, unless required to do so by law. Diplomat Media Inc. will use your information only for the purpose of providing its services. From time to time we may email you with content and/or offers that we believe may be of interest to you. You can opt out of receiving these emails at any time.

How are the calls arranged?

Once you are signed up to the service you will be able to log into the DRI site, at Once logged in, click on the Experts link at the top menu. Using the drop-down menus, you will be able to browse by topic, region, and country, to choose the expert whose specialization bests matches your needs. Click on the expert’s name for more details and information about their availability. To book the expert, click the “Book Expert” link. Here you will be able to choose your preferred dates and times. Click “Confirm Booking.”

Once we receive your booking, we will set up the call and will send you a confirmation email.

How are the calls conducted?

We use Zoom ( for the calls. We will provide you with the details you need to make the call from a private “room.” Calls may be voice only, or video and voice. Calls may continue for up to one hour.

What if I need to clarify something with the expert after the call?

If you require a brief clarification of something you discussed during the call, you may email us with your question and we will ask the expert to respond.

If the follow-up information you need is extensive, or if it relates to an area not discussed during the call, we will ask you to book another call with that expert.

What if I am not satisfied with the call?

If you are unhappy with the service you have received, please let us know! We will book a second call for you, or suggest another expert.

How many calls can I make?

During the 12-month retainer period, you are free to book calls as you require, subject to expert availability.
